Weaning a foal from its mother is a natural and essential part of horse care, ensuring the health and independence of both the mare and her foal. This process typically happens when the foal is 4-6 months old, allowing it to transition from milk to solid feed, while giving the mare time to recover her strength and condition. We put every effort into making the separation as stress-free as possible. Whether through gradual or complete weaning methods, we focus on the foal’s readiness and provide a safe, comfortable environment. With proper care, including companions to ease the transition, weaning becomes a positive and smooth step toward a bright future for both mare and foal.
