Using the website

You're welcome to browse, read, share and link to anything on this site. We only ask that you don't use it for anything unlawful, try to break or overload it, or pretend to be us.

We do our best to keep the information here accurate and up to date, but things change at a working ranch (herd numbers, trip dates, prices), so please check with us before relying on something important.

Our photos, words and logo

The photos, videos, writing and artwork on this site belong to the association or to the people who made them, including the artists whose work appears on our merchandise. Our logo was drawn for us by Alice Shirley.

You're very welcome to share our posts and pages with a link back to us. Please ask before reusing our photos, text or logo anywhere else, especially for anything commercial. Journalists and partners can write to us for images and permission.

Buying from the shop

• Prices are shown in euros and with no VAT, as the association is not VAT-registered. Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you pay.
• Made to order. Our merchandise is printed on demand by our partner Printful, which means less waste. Your order is usually made within 2 to 7 working days, then shipped.
• Delivery times depend on where you live, and you'll see an estimate at checkout. We'll email you a tracking link once your order ships.
• Your contract is with the International Chaar Appaloosa Horse Association. It's formed when you receive our order confirmation email.
• Profits from every sale go to the herd at Chaar Ranch.

Returns and faulty items

Changed your mind? If you live in the EU, you have 14 days from receiving your order to tell us you want to cancel, without giving a reason. Email us, then send the item back unused within 14 days. We'll refund the price of the item and standard delivery within 14 days of getting it back. Return postage is paid by you.

Something wrong with your order? If an item arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, email us a photo within 14 days and we'll replace it or refund you, including postage. This doesn't affect your legal rights: in the EU, goods come with a two-year legal guarantee of conformity.

Donations and Own a Foal

Donations are voluntary gifts to support the association's work with the Chaar horse, and aren't a payment for goods or services. Because of that, they aren't refundable, except where a mistake was made (for example you donated twice by accident). Tell us within 30 days and we'll put it right.

French taxpayers who donate through HelloAsso receive a tax receipt (reçu fiscal). Monthly gifts can be stopped at any time by emailing us or through your HelloAsso or payment account.

Own a Foal is a four-year commitment with its own terms, set out on the Own a Foal page. By joining, you agree to those terms as well.

Trips and visits

The Chaar Expedition, the Spirit of Kyrgyzstan journey and the Volunteer programme each have their own booking conditions, covering deposits, cancellations, insurance, safety and conduct. You'll receive them before your place is confirmed, and they apply in addition to these terms.

Links and liability

Our site links to other websites, such as HelloAsso, Vimeo, Instagram and our partners. We're not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

We're a small association and the site is provided as it is. We aren't liable for losses caused by the site being unavailable or by information that turns out to be out of date. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or your rights as a consumer.

Disputes and the law that applies

If something goes wrong, please write to us first. Most problems can be sorted out with an email.

If we can't agree, and you're a consumer, you can go to a consumer mediator.

These terms are governed by French law. If you're a consumer living in another country, you keep the protections of your own country's law, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to an order is the one on this page when you placed it. How we handle your personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
