Why monthly makes such a difference

It costs about a euro a day to carry a Chaar horse through the winter, from the first snow in November to the grass coming back in May. That's roughly seven months, so the sums are easy.

Local horsemen like Yrys, with the herd every day from November to May and guarding it from wolves and now snow leopards, plus the vet and the project lead who look after the herd and host visitors all year.

Trucks and grain storage that save a small team time and money on the daily work.

Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes, in a click, from the link in any receipt email. No notice, no phone call, nobody trying to talk you out of the decision. Plenty of people give monthly for a year and then switch to a one-off now and then, and that's completely fine.
Can I change the amount later?
You can, up or down. Cancel the old one and set up a new one at the amount that suits you, or write to us and we'll sort the change out with you.
How is this different from giving once?
The money is the same, but what the team can do with it isn't. A predictable amount each month means feed bought ahead of the snow at a better price, wages paid on time, and a vet call answered without anyone doing sums first.
Is there a minimum?
There's no minimum. We suggest €15 a month, but any amount helps.
Will I hear what happens to the herd?
Yes, and that's rather the point. Monthly supporters get the news from the ranch, foals as they arrive, and first word when something is happening. Everything is written up in the news too.
Are you a registered charity?
We're a registered French association (loi 1901), n° W353023160, and every member and supporter receives our annual financial report each year. For French tax residents, gifts made through HelloAsso qualify for a 66% income tax reduction. Outside France it depends on your country's rules, and we can't advise on those, so check with your own tax office.
Can I do something other than give money?
You can, and plenty do. Volunteer at the ranch, partner as an artist, ride with us in 2027, buy something from the shop, or write to us about sponsorship.
Come and meet the horses you're feeding
Supporters turn up at the ranch all the time, and the horsemen love showing people round. If you'd rather see the herd before you decide anything, that's a very good reason to come.
